Alex McClurg is a third year art student attending the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he intends to advance both in his studies of aesthetics and process. His mixed media works tent to include found articles and photographs in order to present his ideas sin a familiar yet alarming context. The majority of his work is centered around the ideologies of religion and their effect on the cultural perspective of rituals and methodologies. Though his compositions may seem commonplace, their identity is actually that of something unrecognizable and only understood on an individual basis.
