Barbara has worked in several mediums for over 30 years. She has always been fascinated with the play of light on any surface; and strives for paintings that “make the viewer feel something”. She holds a B.S., in the sciences from the University of Alabama.

She sold her first painting at the age of 15 and over the next 2 years had two public showings. She realized immediately that painting was an avocation and exhibition more a vocation, since her work has been almost exclusively for private collectors and charity. She has paintings in private collections in Europe, Canada, South Africa, and in eleven states in the U.S. Barbara had her first public showing in over 25 years in the fall of 2006. Since that time, she has participated in no more than one or two shows a year working out of two small studios in Jefferson and Shelby counties.

Her work is noted for its diversity of style, vivid color, and variety of technique. She has developed a unique style using acrylics that blending realism with abstract expressionism; however, she also works with watercolor and oils with more traditional subjects. Yet it is the vibrant color that makes her work absolutely striking. Barbara is a most interesting individual whose work is on the verge of an explosive leap onto the front page of art news.
