Celia earned a BFA in Photography from Rhode Island School of Design and earned her graduate degree at the University of Tennessee. Celia has won many art and photography contests and has exhibited in galleries and studios all along the East Coast. Her work appeared at the John F. Kennedy Performing Arts Center and the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, DC. She has twice been an invited guest of the North American Nature Photography Association.

Artist Statement: Although I have studio experience in drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics, graphic design, and silk-screen printing, my love has always been photography and most recently painting. I have become fascinated with freedom and spontaneity offered by painting. I use art to explore the world around me. My vision shows a blend of reality and imagination. Art to me is a process that builds upon itself and therefore is ever evolving. Sometimes the outcome is unexpected and happy accidents take on new meanings. In my paintings I build layers upon layers of color, texture and pattern. I enjoy the process, the creation time and the final product. The last layer is the viewer. Everybody experiences artwork in different ways and with different emotions. “What does your imagination say?”
