Erin Hardin was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, grew up in Memphis, Tennessee, and has lived in the Birmingham area since 1999. She holds a masters degree in counseling and works with children and teens with autism. After business hours, she can usually be found holding a paintbrush or palette knife. She has little formal art training, but has always enjoyed creative outlets as a means of relaxation and self expression. She enjoys writing, photography, and ceramics, and began painting in earnest in 2007. She appreciates the element of surprise in art, and likes to explore the possibilities of mixed media, using beads, epoxy resin, bits of wire and chain, mirrors, beer labels, bottle caps, and anything else that happens to be within reach at any given moment. She lives in Alabaster, Alabama with her husband and dogs.
