In my most recent work, I attempt to explore energy levels in a social system and how they can dictate overall harmony within a community. 

An individual who is focused and tuned into a system can impact overall energy levels.  Given recognition of opportunity to impact inertia, well timed, discreet decisions by a perceptive individual can ultimately lead to critical mass.  My focus is if that level of energy between inertia and critical mass can be or should be maintained. In safety of homeostasis, we may sacrifice the possibility of exceptional discovery and ultimately, life experience.  However, if critical mass is achieved, we might begin something we are unable to control or predict.

Thoughts are transferred into works comprised of textured painting, glitter, paper, ink, foil, and, if needed, glow in dark paint.

I teach high school biology.  I started painting ten years ago.  Creating art allows me to explore interactions within my chosen role as an educator, spouse, and father.  Daily conversation with children, teen-agers and adults inspires me to resist defining existence through a single lens.
