I work in mixed media collage.  My collages are, for the most part, non-representational.   I work intuitively.  Sometimes I have a plan. Sometimes I don’t see anything until I’m well into a piece.  Sometimes it doesn’t work out and I sand it down and start over.   Dynamic color and texture are signatures of my work.  I hand paint the papers I use and enjoy experimenting with new materials and techniques.  I add recycled and organic items to create texture and interest in my one of a kind collage.   My collages may incorporate leaves, seeds, wood chips, hand-made paper, bark, stones, leather, shells, string and beads.   

I studied art formally at Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia and at Kennesaw College in Marietta, Georgia.  Since moving to Alabama, I have continued studies at Calhoun College and at the University of Alabama in Huntsville.  I have also participated in a number of workshops with noted artists.

 Working in mixed media collage is a continually changing thing and a challenge that allows me much freedom of expression.
