I grew up in a small community in West Virginia. I was always interested in art as a student in grade school. There were no art classes in high school so I had little formal training. I am basically a self-taught artist. I attended a class at City College in San Francisco in the 1980’s that dealt with marketing artwork. It had a great influence on me.

For several years I have been painting portraits. Mostly women. I work with various mediums. I love sketching and work without a model. I use acrylics, watercolors, oil crayons and colored inks.

My purpose in creating art is to share with others my tremendous love of the creative process and its ability to communicate love and joy and make them visible.

I have lived in Birmingham since 2002.
