Hi, I’m Kate and I would like to introduce you to my unique functional art.

My creations begin as one-of-a-kind vintage chairs that I search for in antique stores and estate sales.  It’s not unusual for me to take a picture with my cell phone and send it to a friend for another opinion; sometimes receiving a “You want to buy What”?!? reply.

Matching the personality of the paper with the personality of the vintage chair comes next.  Afterwards, I take samples of my paper to fabric stores to insure a good marriage of wood, paper and upholstery.  Fortunately, I have found wonderfully helpful people in these stores who have shown me the patience of Job.

The process of refinishing my vintage chairs includes any necessary repairs, sanding, sometimes repainting and reupholstering; to be finished with a child-safe, lead free sealant.

You can be assured that my chairs receive lots of tender-loving care from first sight, to which paper to clothe them in, to adding the finishing touches and sealing for a happily-ever-after with a good and loving family.
