Luis Espinoza
Jewelry [Norcross, GA]
2222 2nd Avenue North: Athens Flatts
As a Quechua Indian from the land of ancient Incas, I was born into a tradition of hand crafted jewelry. My artistic journey began at the age of 8. Today, I reinterpret my tribal traditions into a new contemporary art form. As an artist, my desire is to transform the gifts of Mother Nature into intricate pieces of jewelry that inspire and excite.
My technique uses pliers, hammers and drills with no heat, jigs, commercial chains or findings. I create each original piece by hand using silver and gold wire where ever individual chain, clasp and hook is hand twisted. Every piece I create is truly unique.
