Medium: Painting

Painting for me is enjoyable, relaxing and absolute therapy to my soul. I enjoy painting flowers, fruit, and people. I would describe my work as Folk Art.  I use mixed media and bright colors in my work, which include unique paintings of women, with bright African patterns and designs. I like working with acrylic paints, watercolors, fabrics, items from nature, glass, paper and wood.

 

I was born in Montgomery County, Alabama and currently reside in Birmingham, Alabama. I work as a volunteer in The Birmingham City School System, working with kindergarten students. I retired from Vestavia Country Club after 33 years of service. I have shown my works in numerous art shows throughout the south. Many of my works have been purchased by area residents.
